Nonkululeko Merina Cheryl Nyembezi-Heita, also Nku, is a South African business executive who has been active in steel, telecommunications and finance. Since March 2014, she has been CEO of the Dutch mining group, IchorCoal N.V. Nyembezi-Heita has also served on the boards of several other companies.
In 2012, Nyembezi-Heita was listed 97th in Forbes list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
Yesterday the 1st of January 2018, Alexander Forbes appointed a new Chairperson and 82 years of having men chair the company, the decided it was time they had more than they usually had. And Nonkululeko Nyembezi was appointed chairperson of the Alexander Forbes Company, becoming the first woman to chair the company in its 82 year history. ( I can hear you say ”it’s about time”, and i totally agree with you.)
