23-year-old Jessikah Inaba becomes UK’s first black, blind, female Barrister studying with Braille to achieve this feat

Jessikah Inaba is the first blind, black, woman to pass the bar exam in the UK, breaking ‘triple-glazed glass ceiling’

The 23-year-old completed her entire course by reading Braille, with assistance from friends and tutors when she needed more information on certain topics.

Inaba, from Camden in north London, admitted she had considered giving up several times but never did because she knew she could achieve her goal.

“I’m not the most common gender or colour, and I have a disability, but by pushing through I’m easing the burden on the next person like me.”
