Meet Lena Marshall, the woman opening international doors to African entrepreneurs
Africa is rising and so are its entrepreneurs. In the midst of the progress we have made as a continent, there is a need for us to deliberately introduce our products to the international market and take over the global stage. Lena Marshall is helping to make that possible.
Her company, WenLen, acts as a sourcing and supply agent. They source a variety of products clients. With suppliers in South Africa, Nigeria, Liberia, the USA, and the UK. She is definitely making the dreams of so many entrepreneurs come true.
At the moment, they specialize in rice, sugar, cement, flour and supply to the hospitality industry. On how she got this idea and started it, Lena said that during one of her travels, she saw the need for exporting locally-made products from Liberia, West Africa. and that was her lightbulb moment.
She did a mini research and started the company as a “trial” business. After a month they became inundated with requests. The rest is history. Her goal is to go into manufacturing. She believes we have to add value to our products and this can be done within our continent. It is time that we stop taking out our rich resources and start adding value to them.
“It is time that we stop taking out our rich resources and start adding value to them.” You can say that again Lena.
