CEO of Ebonylife TV, Mosunmola Abudu, was one of the keyote speakers at the just held 2017 Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) Conference held in Lagos tagged, ‘Bold Steps in the face of uncertainty’. She made some noteworthy comments while touching on various topics at the event.
On women helping one another
She advised women in business to particularly support one another’s growth in a bid to tackle the gender imbalance in the country. She urged women to be more creative and make the best of every opportunity by getting into partnerships and interacting with like-minds.
On marital support
She urged that women ensure that their partners share their vision and purpose so as to move ahead. She also talked about getting the right team as they could make or break a business.
On finding purpose
“Be consistent and persistent. Finding your purpose is very difficult but the moment you do, hold on to it and live it. More importantly, be authentic as nobody can do what you want to do better than you can. Opportunities are out there, you need to go out there and seize it and even strangers can be your dream makers, can help you grow and succeed” she advised.
On tackling competition and scheming in the business world
“If someone is scheming, please scheme right back. Scheming is a form of innovation,” she advised women who were facing unhealthy competitions and were being sidelined in business.
