It is often said that young people are the leaders of tomorrow. However, what is done to engage them properly and prepare them for the responsibility ahead?
Susan Mboya, President of the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, is taking this seriously. Through the YES!Program launched in 2015, youths in more than six African countries have been trained in different skills, including life and business skills training, along with providing access to mentoring and employment opportunities.
As at now, young people between the ages of 18 and 35 in Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia and Uganda have already started to benefit from the program, with TCCAF planning to reach 500,000 youth by 2020.
With every new person the foundation trains you can be sure that Africa’s future is being secured.
