Peace Hyde, a British-Ghanaian, television personality, business journalist and media entrepreneur, best known for her role as host of Forbes Africa ‘My Worst Day in Business’ series, has been named ‘Head of Digital Media and Strategic Partnerships’ by The ABN Group, owners of Forbes Africa and CNBC Africa.
Hyde will maintain her current role as the West Africa correspondent and business journalist for the publication while heading its new digital platform, www.forbesafrica.com.
“The publishing game has changed dramatically in recent years. Forbes Africa has always had a passion for celebrating the people changing Africa and our new digital platform is in line with reaching that goal,” said Hyde in explaining Forbes Africa’s new digital platform and her new role. “The biggest trigger for the change we are experiencing is the imminent shift to digital. Companies like Forbes Africa who have already begun investing in this direction as well as creating engaging content will have a competitive advantage and we are excited that this new medium will create a paradigm shift in the way our loyal readers consume content,” she added.
In her new leadership role, Hyde will be responsible for driving users and user engagement to the site, and creating partnerships with brands and affiliates to cement the dominance of the business publication in Africa.
Launched in October 2011, Forbes Africa which has Chris Bishop at its helm as managing editor and visionary, is the sixteenth local language edition of the highly successful Forbes magazine.
“Forbes Africa is now six years and with this major push towards digital media, the company is simply carving out strategies to make us ready for the future,” said Frederic Van Devyver, Executive Director, CNBC Africa, and Forbes Africa, about Hyde’s appointment.”We are proud to appoint Peace Hyde to this role to help drive engagement from our millennial audience onto the online platform.”
Hyde, true to form, has not limited her excitement and appreciation for her new role to just the press. The budding media star took to social media to share a heartfelt note to self to inspire herself and her following of “faith-builders.” Below is what she shared on her Instagram page, after the announcement of her appointment:
I know you struggle sometimes but in case I don’t tell you enough, I’m PROUD OF YOU. Thank you for being so strong and transparent, people see your heart even when you feel like it is invisible. Thank you for never being afraid to DREAM and trust GOD’S PROCESS in your life. You are always trying to be the best YOU can be, and although you get discouraged at times you TRUST God has your back and will not allow you to FAIL. I appreciate your heart and your stubbornness. Your WILLINGNESS to love and stay TRUE to who you are and what you believe in is admirable. You are not afraid to shed tears of SORROW, then wipe them away and push yourself BEYOND LIMITS you can see. I’m so proud to know that you’ve GROWN to acknowledge your WORTH and continue to give God ALL the GLORY in all you do. He has prepared your NEXT chapter for you… GET READY!
With so much love,
