When Barbara became a cake designer, she never thought it was something she was going to do for the ‘rest of her life’. Barbara studied electrical and electronics engineering and has a Masters degree in oil and gas management, what she wanted was to get a job and climb up the corporate ladder, but all her efforts to obtain one were abortive.

In an interview with BBC, Barbara said:
“I applied for jobs and put my CV out there but still. So at a point, I just focused on baking cakes,” she says. “I bake about nine to ten cakes a week. I’d rather bake cakes and improve every day and grow my business. It is better for everybody to learn that one skill on the side just in case your plan A doesn’t work.”

3 years later, Barbara has gained the attention of the world from baking and designing cakes. Recently she was listed under Forbes 30 under 30 2019 list, alongside other entrepreneurs.
