#LLATechThursdays: Meet Fareedah Shaheed, CEO and Founder of Sekuva

Fareedah Shaheed

At Sekuva, Fareedah Shaheed teaches online security to non-tech savvy people.

Fareedah Shaheed was by her childhood in Saudi Arabia, where, as the only Black American in her school, she was bullied for her skin color and American roots.

Recognizing the lack of representation in these digital communities, she founded Sekuva to help parents & kids establish a safety-first mindset online.

She has taught thousands of people online security & safety, has hosted lunch and learns, and has delivered keynotes on the subject. She is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and is currently serving on the Forbes board for the Under 30 community.

She has been named Cybersecurity Personality of the Year 2020. And her work has been featured in Cisco, NASA, FOX 25, FOX 46, FOX Carolina, The Grio, Yahoo!, AfroTech, TripWire, Infosecurity Magazine.

In her free time, Fareedah likes to play League of Legends, read psychology and self-help books, and learn more about securing the human factor of Cybersecurity.
