Nthabiseng Mosia is a trailblazing African social entrepreneur. She is the co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Easy Solar, one of the fastest-growing off-grid solar companies in Africa. Easy Solar makes clean energy affordable to off-grid communities by distributing solar-powered devices via a rent-to-own fin\ancing structure.
Easy Solar distributes and finances high-quality solar systems and appliances for those with limited access to the grid. The company has powered 350,000 people in Sierra Leone and Liberia, and employed over 500.
Mosia was born in Ghana and later moved to South Africa. As a young girl, she occasionally experienced blackouts due to unreliable supply of electricity, which first sparked her interest in energy. Mosia gained a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Cape Town, graduating with first class honors and distinction, subsequently working as a management consultant across Africa. In 2016 she studied for a Master’s degree focused on Clean Energy Finance and Policy at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University
Nthabi is a global speaker and thought leader. She has taken centre stage at the UN’s Sustainable Energy for All, Skoll World Forum, and the Forbes Under 30 MeetUp Africa. She holds a Masters in Energy from Columbia University, and a BSc in Finance from the University of Cape Town, both with distinction.
