Tis the season to jolly and make merry!
But hey! You don’t need to go bankrupt just being jolly and making merry. So we’ve put together five easy ways to spend wisely this holiday season.
Create a budget and stick to it. Don’t go over your budget acquiring things that have limited value. Also, you have to be honest with yourself as to how much you can afford to spend.
Buy your items in bulk. Food is usually one of the major expenses during Christmas, so buying ahead of time and in bulk helps you get items cheaper and saves you some money. Also, when purchasing food items, include a rough estimate of guests and relatives you may have to host during the holiday.
Avoid Impulse buys. If you see something that you didn’t plan to buy, put it down and sleep on it. This gives you time to actually figure out if you need the item or not. This will also avoid you from buying lame items that you thought made more sense when you bought them.
Write down everyone you intend to gift and put an amount to each nameThis singular act helps you budget your gifting .
Encourage creativity. Many of us have a ton of talent when it comes to crafts. Being creative and handcrafting gift items can turn out to be much better than buying an already made item. And yes it saves money too.
Bonus!
Make the most of your leftovers.
Now you can have a jolly, merry, smart money Christmas. 🙂
