Anoziva Marindire is the Information & Communications Officer at African Union International Center for Girls & Women’s Education in Africa.
She is a communication strategist with over ten years of experience in the not-for-profit sector. She is the program director for Girls Speak Out – a media, advocacy, and literacy training program for girls living in Zimbabwe.
Anoziva is the founder of Usawa Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and promoting gender equality, girls and women’s socio-economic development through education, advocacy, and research, with which she runs the Power Classes 4 Women (PC4W), an initiative that focuses on grassroots community women running social impact businesses and community-based organizations, teaching social entrepreneurship, leadership, and management skills.
In 2018, She co-founded a media and public relations start-up agency, Hot Cherry Media, with her husband with the focus on helping small-medium sized non-profits, social enterprises, and international organizations to create engaging and creative content, campaigns and brands online for the African market.
Anoziva studied Journalism and Communications and was the co-editor for the Young African Leaders Journal of Development.
In 2020, she was named one of the 100 Most Influential Young Leaders in Africa by The Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation and the Africa Awards also named her one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans for 2019. She is a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow and 2018 Laureate of the Women in Africa Initiative.
She was nominated for The Future Awards Africa Prize in Advocacy and Activism, in 2014. Again, She was part of the youth selected to help draft the African Union Commission 2015 Youth Road-map in November 2014 and part of the young people who drafted the World Youth Foundation Youth on Climate Change Action Plan that was presented to world leaders during the United Nations COP21 conference in France.
