Akofa Dakwa was appointed as the Board Chair of Savvy Securities Limited, a brokerage firm in Ghana Ghana.
Prior to this role, she was the Chief Risk Officer of the Bank of Africa Ghana Ltd. She has over 15 years of experience in the banking industry and her expertise includes liquidity management, investments management, financial and economic analysis, asset and liability management, forex trading, market risk management, and financial & derivative instruments.
Akofa joined the bank in September 2008 as Chief Dealer in the Treasury Department and was promoted to Head of Treasury in 2012 and then appointed to the Executive Committee of the bank in 2019. Prior to that, she worked with Guaranty Trust Bank Ltd for three years in their Treasury and Risk Management departments.
She is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), a Chartered Banker, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Banker’s Ghana and a certified financial markets trader, with a certification in financial markets trading and risk management from the ACI (Association Cambiste Internationale), France. She also holds an MBA in Finance and Risk Management from the Business School Netherlands (BSN), a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with the Mountcrest University, Ghana, and a BSc. Degree in Biochemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
