Get connected, get educated, and be empowered to advance your career at The African Women in Technology (AWIT) Conference. Nearly 200 participants are slated to attend the AWIT conference taking place at Impact Hub Accra, Ghana, on December 15 – 17, 2016. With a focus on providing solutions to challenges faced by young girls and women in technology, the 3-day event seeks to bring together bright minds to give talks that are technology focused, interactive and inspirational.
While spotlighting influential leaders in tech innovation, creativity, and leadership, attendees will also have an opportunity to have their questions discussed in an open forum.
“56% of women in technology leave their employers mid-career. And most events about women in tech tend to focus on learning how to code, but there’s a lot more that goes into building a successful career in technology. Our goal is to level the playing field for women by giving them access to leaders who are changing the face of technology, and actionable tactics that they can use to achieve long term success in the tech industry,” said Anie Akpe, the founder of African Women in Technology.
Although the event is free, attendees must register to attend. The transformative event is the second technology conference delivered by IBOM, a consulting agency driven to support the advances of the African community throughout the world. Partners and sponsors include: Google, Uber, Women Tech Makers, Impact Hub, Djembe Communications and Levers in Heels.
