The Blueprint of How: Empowering women one city at a time
The Blueprint of How, an intensive training seminar which focuses on helping women from diverse backgrounds birth their ideas, took place on Saturday, 30 July, 2016.
Organized by certified John-Maxwell Coach, Maritime lawyer and Founder of The Discovery Centre, Mfon Ekpo, The Blueprint of How caters to women concerned with enterprises, ideas and businesses that seek to impact and influence while still creating an income but who are also still not certain about how to go about executing their ideas.
“We are on the verge of an impending population explosion, one that also has the potential to cripple us if there are no systemic or structured efforts to get the required percentage of the population operating in their strength zones. Failure to address this could lead to generational discontent, high turnover of jobs and the inability to turn our demographic composition to dividends in Nigeria because majority of the skilled workforce are still trying to figure out where they fit in spite of their extensive formal education. This makes personal development and the knowledge of how to implement their ideas , no longer a soft option but a key imperative for the development of the country and continent,” said Mfon Ekpo
The seminar attracts women from diverse backgrounds and different level of development with one, core focus, how to put systems , strategy and structures to their ideas to create sustainable ventures that impact and influence society.
Although the seminars started focused on African especially Nigerian women, it has reached women in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States. Now in its 6th month, participants who attended the Lagos edition, came from various cities in Nigeria such as Port Harcourt, Benin, Abuja, Ibadan and all gathered as early as 7 am for the 10 – hour long intensive seminar.
Among the participants in attendance were Insead business school Valedictorian Kemi Onabanjo , Lara Odebiyi , convener of the Dabira Women’s conference , Nelly of Nellies n.g who also shared the story of building her healthy food business and other female business executives and professionals.
