What leadership qualities do you admire and strive to develop in yourself?
As I have gotten older and added more titles to my life I really appreciate the leadership qualities of grace and compassion. I also admire when leaders can be firm and truthful without being disrespectful or rude. There is a sense of real power and leadership when one can come from a human perspective. This doesn’t mean being run over but truly understanding the complexities of human capacity as it relates to business. I strive to embody all of these qualities. I do envy women who are disciplined and can stick to a schedule or a goal even when obstacles arise – working on that.
Do you prefer working remotely or on-site and why?
On-site because I like the energy of people. I also work in industries where collaboration and conversation are important factors to getting work done.
How do you prioritize your mental and physical well-being alongside your professional goals?
Whew…that is always a challenge. I do attempt to do a few things consistently to keep a balance. For example I like to eat well and urge myself to choose the healthier option when I can. Eating well affects my mental capacity with work and just how my body feels overall. I workout and go in between moments of consistency and inconcsistency there. This is most affected when I travel or have a late night with the baby. Lastly I enjoy moments to myself like at the spa for a massage, or reading a book before bed or cooking dinner slowly. I take all the little moments that I can to switch off.
