How do you prioritize your mental and physical well-being alongside your professional goals?
My mental and physical health is a major priority to me. In terms of the mental, I take a lot of time off. I have an incredibly stressful job that requires a lot out of me. I am a firm believer in taking time off and spending time with yourself and being surrounded by loved ones. I also travel a lot which is a great escape for me. I love travelling because it allows me to experience and explore. It keeps my mind curious but its fun and relaxing.
In terms of the physical, I love working out. If an escape is something I cant take due to work pressure, you will always find me at the gym. I recently took on a trainer and he pushes me and that’s more of a mental challenge for me to see what my body can do. The results of course are amazing, but I have surpassed going to gym for any body goals. I go now for a mental escape and it has become apart of my lifestyle and something I thoroughly enjoy.
What digital tools are your secret weapons to staying productive?
I wish I had. I am such a basic girl and all these advanced tech gadgets and programs can be so overwhelming for me. As a lawyer all I need to stay productive is a quiet room, my laptop and my reading materials. I plan my week ahead of time in my diary, so I am still old fashioned and write everything down and note my week on my calendar. I need to see everything in front of me in black and white.
As a content creator, the advanced programs that assist you to schedule posts ahead of time and map out your content have been a life saver for me, that allows me to juggle both industries so effortlessly. I am a planner, so anything that can make my life easier is always a win. It keeps me productive.
What leadership qualities do you admire and strive to develop in yourself?
Discipline, commitment and courage.
I am an extremely passionate person but I tend to place it safe, especially when I am faced with a new challenge. I strive to be fearless, a leader knows no bounds and that is exactly the person I want to be. I don’t want to hold back when it comes to going after something I want. In order to lead you have to go before the pack and assess the situation and that alone requires a lot of courage. I have so much admiration for people like that and that is one quality I need to catapult to the next level.

What is that one book every woman just starting out her career should read?
The Mountain is You by Brianne Wiest. It is a brilliant book that a friend recommended and it basically guides you out of self sabotage and instills levels of confidence in you to go after what you want. It’s a great tool to assess your life currently and help you map out the life you want and what you need to do to get there without sabotaging yourself. Its a brilliant book. I am also a huge fan of anything by Chimamanda Adichie, I have a series of her books and they captivate me every time. Her approach on feminism is a perspective we all need to apply.
