Sandrah Tubobereni Hosts Second Edition of Impact Day!
Sandrah Tubobereni, the pioneer behind the international luxury fashion brand TUBO, On April 7th, 2024 hosted the second edition of Impact Day. This recent edition which was held at the Civic Centre in Lagos, attracted over one thousand (1000) applicants within just eight (8) hours of its official announcement three weeks ago. From this vast pool, four hundred (400) exceptional women from diverse industries across Nigeria were handpicked to attend the event.
The order of the day, which commenced at one (1) pm and concluded at eight (8) pm, covered a range of business topics that were designed to impact entrepreneurs in the fashion industry and beyond. These topics included standard operating procedures, branding strategies, personal effectiveness techniques, and invaluable insights gleaned from Tubo’s personal journey as an entrepreneur in the fashion industry for over ten (10) years. The event delivered a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.
The panel discussion featured Abasiekenne Ukanireh (Founder of Eki Kere) Alma Karibo (Chief of Staff and General Counsel at 54gene), and Edidiong Umokaso (Senior Associate at Maverick and Sceptre). They all shared practical insights that ensured a mindset shift, leaving all participants hungry for more.
Abasiekenne Ukanireh for the first time shared the story of how she became Ekikere and highlighted how she identified opportunities during the Covid era to contribute to solving one of the challenges experienced in the fashion industry. Alma Karibo provided legal insights, stressing the importance of trademarks and copyrights in safeguarding creative works. Edidiong Umokaso also explained in depth the aspects of a brand’s creative idea that is protected by the Nigerian copyright law and how that law is enacted. Both lawyers spoke expressly on infringement of intellectual property and the legal implications. The audience rose to high spirits when they learned that their creativity was automatically protected by the copyright laws in Nigeria, and that they remain protected even seventy years (70) after their death.
Mr. Bankole Williams (CEO, Live Your Dreams Africa and Peak Performance Coach) also engaged the minds of the participants as he spoke on practical ways to walk in greatness and encouraged all participants to become the best version of themselves.
Tubo’s personal session on ‘Her Journey So Far’ served as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs. Her journey, characterised by resilience, creativity, and unwavering commitment, encapsulated the spirit of Impact Day with Tubo. Her willingness to share both triumphs and challenges reinforced the belief that success is attainable with dedication, determination and value.
As the curtains drew, participants departed with more than just knowledge. They carried with them strengthened networks, practical insights, and a renewed sense of purpose.
