Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon have been nominated for the World Athletics’ Female Athlete of the Year

 

Two African women, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, have been nominated for the World Athletics’ Female Athlete of the Year.

Both women have achieved incredible feats in sports

Tobi Amusan is a world record holder and became the first Nigerian world champion in athletics when she won the 2022 Gold medal for the 100m hurdles.

Faith Kipyegon is a Kenyan middle-distance runner and the second woman in history to win back-to-back Olympic titles when she won the 2016 Rio Olympic and The Tokyo Olympic championship titles.

African Women are taking big strides and it is a big deal!
