This marks a significant moment for the organization, with Nwuneli becoming the first African to lead its charge towards a brighter future, particularly for the continent.
Nwuneli brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the table. With an extensive background in food ecosystems, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and philanthropy, she boasts over 25 years of international development expertise. Her diverse portfolio includes:
- Founding LEAP Africa, fostering African leadership.
- Leading African Food Changemakers,empowering agricultural entrepreneurs.
- Co-founding Sahel Consulting, a leading agriculture and nutrition firm.
Nwuneli’s appointment comes at a crucial juncture for Africa. Poverty and disease continue to challenge vulnerable communities, requiring innovative solutions and bold leadership. Nwuneli, recognized for her powerful communication skills and global network, is well-equipped to lead the charge.
Bono, ONE’s co-founder, expressed elation at having an African woman lead the organization. He views Nwuneli as a “present” for ONE’s 20th anniversary and believes she will steer the organization towards impactful change.
