“Men Need to be More Accountable.” Lessons we RELEARNED from Terry Crews at 2019 Makers Conference.

The 2019 MAKERS Conference is a global women’s leadership event that brings together the most powerful names in business, entertainment, tech, and finance to explore ways to accelerate the makers movement with compelling videos, provocative conversations, and onstage pledges for change. This year’s speakers include Jada Pinkett Smith, Lisa Borders, Arlan Hamilton, Gloria Steinem, flight attendant activist Dusty Roads, Mars 2020 Project Engineer Lead Diana Trujillo, Terry Crews, Ciara, Joanna Barsh and more.

American actor and activist- Terry Crews who was a key note speaker gave a discombobulating speech that left the audience in uproar. Terry dismantled traditional markers of toxic masculinity, and shared a truck load of other insightful life lessons for women AND men

1. Men need to be more vulnerable. 
2. Women need to be more fearless.
3. Parents need to be very intentional with raising kids- don’t stifle them with standards of ‘normalcy’ that are  influenced by societal expectations. Raise them to be the best versions of themselves.
