Abimbola Ipaye is the Managing Director of “Traditions by Bimms” a business she has been running for almost 6 years now. Her story is a very inspiring one, as she has been fending for herself since she was 14 years old, running errands and doing menial jobs just to make ends meet. And despite all the hardships, she never let anything stop her from becoming the woman she wanted to be.
While in the university she had to fend for herself, her mum and siblings, so she started to sew and sell ankara clothing to people as a way to raise funds. She moved on from her job with a pension company and learnt to make beads and Aso Oke from people around her.
She then moved on to start her own business, which did not initially go as she may have planned, and she fell into depression and even considered suicide.
However, despite all she has been through, Abimbola has turned what would have been a tragedy into triumph. She grew her business gradually from her room, to a BQ apartment and without borrowing money, she has made her business a household name.
With “Traditions by Bimms” she has been able to make the weddings of so many people colorful and magical, raking in amazing testimonies and positive remarks from the brides and their families.
