Delphine Diaw Diallo, Brooklyn-based French and Senegalese visual artist and photographer studied at Académie Charpentier School of Visual Art, Paris before moving to New York and to Senegal where her father is from to explore photography. Today, Delphine Diallo takes pride in challenging the norms of our society through the combination of artistry with activism, pushing the many possibilities of empowering women, youth, and cultural minorities, challenging notions of race and gender through visual provocation.
Delphine’s powerful portraitures are a celebration of the female form, uplifting sensuality and spirituality. Her portraits offer an important patina to the lives of the women she documents, capturing their true essences and powerful spirits taking you beyond the visual. She goes as far as spending intimate time with her subjects in far remote areas, to better able represent their most innate energy. She is working towards creating new dimensions and a place where consciousness and art are a universal language by connecting artists, sharing ideas and learning.
Delphine has participated in the international exhibitions and In 2012, the Smithsonian mentioned her as one of the top 26 emerging photographers of the ICP among Photography’s Emerging Stars. Her clients and press include major clients like The New York Times, Esquire, Nike, Converse and WAD.
