Lola Ogunnaike is an American features, and entertainment journalist (and president of the #BlackGirlMagic Tribe). She has shattered glass ceilings and gone ahead to accomplish so many things that would probably need to be written in a book.
You may have never seen this before, so I thought to share with you today, the accomplishments of the embodiment of Black Girl Magic which is Lola Ogunnaike.
- She was features reporter at the New York Daily News and The New York Times.
- She made her first appearance as a guest host on The View in 2006.
- She became an entertainment correspondent for CNN’s American Morning in 2007, where she covered the Academy Awards, Grammys and Sundance Film Festival.
- Interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama for the 2011 BET special Michelle Obama: Impact Africa. Provided commentary for television programs on CNN, MTV and VH1.
- Currently, a contributor for Today and MSNBC and a freelance reporter. Has penned more than two dozen cover stories and been published in Rolling Stone, Vibe, New York magazine, Elle and Glamour.
- Currently contributes her pop culture knowledge to the Today Show as well as hosts Arise Entertainment 360, a daily culture and entertainment series airing on Sky TV and available on BET CENTRIC.
- She has appeared on several television programs such as NBC’s Today Show, MTV and VH1. She was listed in May 2007 as Ebony’s ‘150 Most Influential Blacks in America”.
Phew! she is one great source of motivation right now and the best part is, there is still room for more achievements! We can’t wait to see which glass ceiling she’ll be breaking next, and we are right here rooting for her and waiting eagerly to be her cheer squad.
