It’s not every time you see a young woman so passionate about the environment and sustainability that she sets up an organization focused on that.
Jennifer Uchendu is definitely one of a kind. She is the founder of Susty Vibes, an organization that preaches sustainability in Africa especially amongst Youths, via innovative projects like Susty Parties – where she hosts a gathering of youths to discuss major sustainability issues over movies, food and games.
Although she launched Susty Vibes less than six months ago, the results have been phenomenal. Apart from Susty Parties, her Susty Schools campaign has till date trained over 350 school children on the SDGs and her Susty Places project promotes African Ecotourism.
Susty Vibes has its online platform where readers have access to sustainability news and trends from Nigeria and Africa at large.
Jennifer believes strongly that women have a critical role to play in ensuring sustainable development in Nigeria. As a result, she is doing all she can to ensure that young girls are empowered through education. She hopes to start a foundation that helps young girls go to school.
In her own words “If you empower a woman, you have empowered the community; you have empowered her family.”
