We’re Celebrating Oluwatobiloba Amusan; Here’s Why

When a woman wins, we all win. Today, we’re celebrating Oluwatobiloba Amusan, the 20-year old who became the first Nigerian to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

After proceeding from the first race to the 100m hurdles finals with sheer dexterity, Oluwatobiloba made a mark in the pages of history by winning the gold medal in the women’s race which took place at the Carrara stadium in Gold Coast, Australia.

Not only is Oluwatobiloba the first gold medallist in track and field at the 2018 Commonwealth games, she is also the third Nigerian woman to make it to the podium after Modupe Oshikoya in 1974 and Angela Atiede in 2002. Both women won bronze medal.

Huge congratulations to Tobiloba for the outstanding accomplishment.
