It’s all about the business of fashion at the second edition of the Power Talk Series

Power Talk Series

Another edition of The Power Talk Series (PTS) is here and we are very excited about it. In the first edition, our focus was on “Leveraging the Power of Online Media” and we had speakers like Yagazie Emezi, Tosin Ajibade, Chude Jideonwo, Subomi Plumptre, Liz Osho and Ifeoma Areh who took us into the world of online media, providing guidance and practical tips on how to use it for business success.

This quarter, we are shifting our focus to fashion. According to statistics, the global fashion industry is worth an estimated $1.2 Trillion USD, with $250 billion USD spent annually. In Nigeria, the last couple of years have witnessed an explosion in the fashion industry, with a plethora of indigenous brands and fashion houses churning out clothing, accessory and household items. But with the growth also come challenges; funding, expansion, quality control, innovation, and all those other “business” aspects that most creatives don’t usually bother with.

The theme of this quarter’s Power Talk Series is “Understanding The Business of Fashion.”  We have a great line up of speakers who have, over the years, built successful fashion brands. Our speakers include: Lisa Folawiyo, Creative Director, Jewel By Lisa Group, Isoken Ogiemwonyi, Founder, Zazaii, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Founder, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Kene Rapu, Founder/CEO Kenu Rapu, and Jane Michael Ekanem, Founder, Jane Michael Ekanem Styling.

The session will be very engaging, and you will be able to ask the panelists questions on how Fashion can thrive as a fully structured, creative business.
