3 Female African Culinary Maestros You Should Know.

Food lovers, get in here, this one is for you! Hehehehe let’s talk about the place of African food on the world map, and some female African Chefs that are doing a fine job of enlisting us up there.

From Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, Ivory Coast to Nigeria, the African continent has over the years produced popular and professional chefs who have overtime served as major culinary forces influencing people on healthy positive food alternatives, how to prepare African food right (because there is a difference between cooking well and cooking right lol) and of course food plating and presentation. These Chefs have carved a niche for themselves in the African food industry and are redefining the continent’s cuisine and by extension, placing African traditional dishes on an international scale.

Some you should watch out for are listed below

Chef Christelle Vougo-Anet

For one who started out being trained for the corporate finance word having studied Accounting, Chef Christelle Vougo-Anet has made a name for herself. Like most entrepreneurs, Chef Christelle started out from the bottom, working in the kitchen and serving in Restaurants in the United States, then joined her husband and associate, Frank Anet, (who was born into a family of Caterers) to open a restaurant- “The Avenue” in the heart of Atlanta.

In 2011, both returned to their home country Ivory Coast and opened “NORIMA” a Restaurant situated on two highlands which fast became a local reference for American dishes. Hence today, she is co-founder of three of the most luxurious restaurants in the city of Abidjan with her husband, who is always ready to try out new flavours, without compromising on originality. With the management of 3 high end restaurants and a catering service, Chef Christelle Vougo has become the “Celebrity Chef” of the capital city of Ivory Coast winning several awards to her name, including Restaurant of the Year at the Abidjan Restaurant Awards, Best Service and Best African Restaurant.
