Helen Oyeyemi is an award-winning Nigerian-born British novelist and author of the 2016 short stories collection ‘What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours’, which won the PEN Open Book Award

Helen’s literary journey began officially in 2005 with the publication of her novel, The Icarus Girl, in her early 20s. Subsequently, she went on to publish other literary pieces which included The Opposite House, Mr. Fox and Boy, Snow, Bird. Among her literary recognitions is the 2010 Somerset Maugham Award for her 2009 novel – ‘White Is for Witching’. In 2013, she made the list of Granta Magazine’s Best of Young British Novelists.

Helen’s literary exploits are often inspired by other fictional works or imaginative environments. She is much renowned for her keenness of flexibility when creating characters and settings for her works.
