Janet Jackson is Phenom and we Love Her Like That!

Janet Damita Jo Jackson is innovative, socially conscious and provocative. Expectedly, these traits seep into her music which is a fusion of pop and urban and she overtime been described as “an artist who has reshaped the sound and image of rhythm and blues” Her relevance in the music industry since the 1970’s till date will see her inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019!

As one of the world’s best-selling music artists selling 100’s of millions of records Janet’s lists of accomplishments as should be expected, holds from the most consecutive top-ten entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a female artist, to being named the second most successful dance club artist of all-time after Madonna in December 2016.

An inspiration among numerous performers and a role model, Janet has been active in Philanthropy. She once established the “Rhythm Nation Scholarship,” donating funds from her tour to several educational programs. In June 2005, she was honored with a Humanitarian Award by the Human Rights Campaign and AIDS Project Los Angeles as recognition for her involvement in raising money for AIDS charities.

In 2012, she endorsed Nutrisystem Company, a commercial provider of weight loss products and services; sponsoring their weight-loss program after struggling with weight in past times. She has also invested her means in making life a bit easier for others. She does this largely through community service, helping selected minorities with special needs live a more humane life. She has in the past donated to the tune of Ten million dollars in meals to the hungry and also participated in a public service announcement for UNICEF to help starving children.

Her Legacy has earned her a wide range of awards including the “Legend Award”, “Inspiration Award”, “Lifetime Achievement Award” and tons more. The youngest sister of the Jackson clan is quite a phenom and we are rooting for her.
