Nicole Amarteifio Is A Self-Made Woman And We Love It!


 

Self-taught TV producer and director Nicole Amarteifio of ‘An African City’ has earned our respect for making waves locally and abroad with her work.The media expert is the first ever social media strategist for the Africa Region at the World Bank, coordinating Africa-focused social-media campaigns

Nicole self-taught herself TV Production and Directing and has long-term dreams of putting out global projects that disrupts the single story of Africa.

She currently directs and produces ‘An African City’ which was inspired by American series ‘Sex and The City’. She uses the series to encourage young African women to talk openly about sex, dating and marriage aiming for the same confidence that the former series gave American women. Nicole pushes for a positive representation of African women in her films and hopes for a world where norms and societal prescriptions of who a woman should be and aspire to will no longer be a thing.

Accra born and London raised, Nicole studied African and Afro-American Studies at Brandeis University in Massachusetts, and earned her Master’s degree in corporate communications and public relations from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C
