“I’ve Always Been Passionate About Raising The Standard Of Africa’s Fashion Industry” Yoanna Pepper Chikezie

Yoanna Pepper Chikezie is the founder of Assembly Fashion Innovation Hub, a community of creatives in the fashion industry. She quit her 9-5 job with Spice TV to launch the creative hub which according to her affords her the opportunity to challenge and redefine some of the current practices in the Nigerian fashion industry.

The vision for her organisation was conceived to raise the standard of Africa’s Fashion Industry. She wanted to create a community where like minded individuals could network and improve their craft, provide a tender-nurturing environment where everyone with a passion for creativity can achieve their ambitions.

She says “It was important for me to create spaces and opportunities for anyone to feel they can have the right access and platform to realize their dreams and ambitions.

The Assembly Fashion Innovation Hub currently provides a platform that pushes for equity for fashion and creative talent in Africa. They facilitate entrepreneurs and companies that innovates in a dynamic industry using collaborative methods. They also help in providing mentoring and removing barriers to career and professional development.

Prior to starting her own company, she has worked as a Fashion Editor for FAB Magazine, TW Magazine and Channel Manager for Spice TV Africa.
