Olympic medalist, Blessing Okagbare has been inducted into the University of Texas El Paso Athletics Hall of Fame for 2017 and we couldn’t be happier.

The Nigerian athlete was inducted alongside four other alumni of the school. As a student, Blessing was an 11-time All-American and a 15-time conference champion for University of Texas El Paso, winning the NCAA Championship in the 100-meters and the long jump in the 2010 outdoor season.

Blessing was also one of the three finalists for the Bowerman Award in her senior season, an award given to the top collegiate athlete by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. She won the bronze medal in the long jump event at the 2008 Olympic Games and was a silver medalist in the long jump and a bronze medalist in the triple jump at the 2013 World Championships. She deserves all this and so much more.
