From banking to charcoal and shea butter exportation to pig farming, Udeme Mfon-Okon went from the corporate world to owning her own business like a boss. She is a winner of the Diamond Bank Building Entrepreneur Today Award. Mrs Udeme started her business when she left the banking industry after twelve years as a manager.

Mrs Udeme started her business when she left the banking industry after twelve years as a manager. Her first attempt at setting up her own business was the exportation of charcoal and shea butter. However, she left exportation and went into pig farming after being introduced to it by a friend. Her instant love for pig farming convinced her to go in for the kill.

Mrs Udeme’s experience at the Diamond Bank BET Training helped a great deal in establishing proper business processes, strategy and branding for the business. She is a graduate of Accounting from the University of Uyo and her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calabar.

We love how she is slowly and steadily building an empire. According to her, the journey as an entrepreneur has taught her that proper planning and patience is needed for any business to succeed and we couldn’t agree more!
