Every woman loves beautiful hair but African women seem to spend more to make it happen. So when Priscilla Hazel, Cassandra Sarfo, and Esther Olatunde came together to build Tress, a fun, passionate mobile app for black women around the world to share and discover hairstyle inspiration, they knew this app will be well received.

The Tress app allows women to discover new hairstyles to inspire them the next time they’re at the salon, see detailed information about hairstyles such as the products used, the name of the salon, and price range, share their favorite hairstyles and get compliments and recommendations  from the supportive community and many more.

The app is for all women whether they are rocking a weave, extensions, cornrows, braids, locs, relaxed hair, wig-caps, or anything in-between.

When Tress was launched, it was made only accessible to Ghanaians. Since it was opened for download to the rest of the world, the app has been downloaded at least 9,000 times with downloads from the USA, Nigeria, the Caribbean amongst others,

Beyond the app, the Tress team is working on having Tress become active in all kinds of media products for black women – television, magazines, events, and more.

We love these innovative minds!
