10 Nigerian Female DJ’s you should know

Take a moment to imagine yourself at a party without a DJ. As for me, I’m already leaving that particular room right now in my imagination.

 

Disc Jockeying has not exactly been a playing field with many females, but like we say here at LLA, 2017 is an ode to the Black Girl! Today, I have put together a list of ten female DJs you should know and possibly hire for your next event. So in no particular order, here is the list!

These ladies know how to get your events turnt! They are literally the ‘’life of the party’’ so hey! Let’s get into the list immediately.

  • DJ Cuppy.

This amazing DJ has been active in the entertainment industry since 2013 till date. She received the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for Best Female DJ in 2015. She aired the first season of her reality TV show in 2016, taking us through various parts of her day to day life. And we saw how passionate she was about helping the less privileged in the community. DJ Cuppy has a heart of gold.

  • DJ Lambo

Bodacious and amazing DJ Lambo is a highly professional DJ signed to chocolate city. Her competence makes her one of the most sought after DJs in Nigeria today. She is tomboyish yet very pretty. DJ Lambo is a strong advocate for women empowerment and she believes that women should embrace independence and learn to keep things together for themselves.

  • DJ Nana

The amazing DJ Nana made her mark in the industry when she won the Airtel/Bacardi Cool FM DJ Competition, she then trained further at Jimmy Jatt Inc. And since then she has been growing in giant strides and leaps. Her positive energy is enough to give you a great party, but couple that with her know how and professionalism; you have yourself a turnt in house concert!

  • DJ Switch

Switch is first a rapper then a DJ. She won the first edition of XFactor Africa and Star Quest talent hunt. DJ Switch is a force to reckon with and you need that force to give your event that rooftop feeling!

  • DJ Caspersandra

Multi talented queen of the wheels, Sandra Uduimoh popularly known as DJ Caspersandra is another show stopper! She has a positive turn up vibe that is contagious and she knows how to keep your parties alive. If you’ve got Sandra, then you’ve got the breath of life your event needs. She gives you the full package with a little more shimmer and shine.

  • DJ Frizzle

Get in here y’all! She is an award winning DJ with a master’s degree. This Queen on the wheels has a number of mix tapes which includes a one hour mix tape featuring 27 songs. DJ Frizzle has talented fingers and she spin with so much energy that makes it almost impossible to leave the party the same way you came in. She came into the industry at 16 and has been DJ for Uniport Radio.

  • DJ Soupamodel

Aderonke Ariyo popularly known as DJ Soupamodel

She is the official DJ to T-Pain. She resides in Washington DC and is the CEO of a music production company MusicBlvdGroup. Internationally she has worked with Wyclef, Jason Derulo, Mims, Soulja Boy, Nappyboy to list a few. Locally she teamed with Tolu of Project Fame to produce a love song tagged “Arewa”.

DJ Soupamodel has been selected as a recording academy awards governor for the Grammys.

  • DJ Rosie

Multi talented DJ Rosie is a psychologist and master chef based in Los Angeles. She stands out with her unique ability to fuse various genres of music, giving your event the right kind of vibe it needs.

  • Female DJ MPD

Omorusi Adesuwa is another tomboyish but pretty female DJ whose love for good music gave her the right determination and drive to join the fast growing industry of female DJs. She is a professional DJ based in the city of Calabar, Cross River State.

  • DJ Toxiq

Asides being the amazing DJ that she is, DJ Toxiq is a producer and artiste. She produced the hit song by Fuji Legend Alabi Pasuma. DJ Switch has a couple of banging Mixtapes.
